Psalm 12:6 – “The words of the LORD are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times.”(NASB) I really like silver… especially when it’s polished. Recently, I’ve been thinking about the idea of pure. What does that look like? So much of everything is so mixed up that to find something pure is refreshing. Values, truth, and even love has been distorted to such an extent that people no longer trust them. It must be tough to struggle through life with the stress of having to rely simply on oneself because that the only person you feel you can trust. Hmmm… although, it’s interesting to think about how many times we even let ourselves down and do not keep ourselves pure… think about the things we watch on TV, the information we see on the web, and the gossip we engage in. After examining those aspects of our lives, ask yourself if that someone you can trust to always make wise choices. I, for one, trust in someone so much greater than myself… someone who will never let me down, someone who always make the right choices - Jesus Christ. Ponder this… who do you trust?
Wow! What an incredible Memorial Day weekend; fun, family, burgers, and corn-on-the-cob. It doesn’t get any better than that. Perhaps some of you can see where this is going. Yes, last weekend was perfect for celebrating outside but I would say today is equally as perfect because the rain is nourishing and cleansing. God is truly glorious and in control. Ponder this… have you taken time lately to count your blessings?
